We sat down with Russell after Sundays 13-6 win over FC33 and here’s what he had to say when reflecting on the game!
“We came into this game not knowing too much about our opponents other than that they have had a terrific season going undefeated in the SFL Dundee, beating Dundee in the Super League Cup and narrowly losing out to Joga Futsal in the Scottish Cup.
We started the match extremely well and took a deserved 6-1 lead in at half time.
In the second half, we extended our lead but had a poor 5 minutes where we conceded 4 goals. We bounced back well from that period and ended the match better and further extended our lead.
Robert and I were far happier with our attacking play, and we created a lot of fantastic opportunities, scoring some excellent goals in the process.
We now look forward to our first national final, and we know that we will have to be switched on for the duration of the game to overcome a strong and experienced Perth Saltires side.
Perth has had the better of us in 4 matches this season, and we will go in as underdogs. We have nothing to lose and will try to bring silverware back to Fife.
Thanks once again for the support travelling up to Perth. Hopefully you can join us for the final!”
