First Team | Match Report | Edinsol

November 25, 2021

We were back in League Cup action again last night and it was another roller coaster game.

Edinsol started the brighter side and had us on the back foot with their high press, probably the first time a team has done that to us so far. We were struggling to play out from the back and forced us into mistakes and not into our natural game.

Edinsol took a deserved lead but we responded well to come back to 1-1 before going behind again. For a spell in the first half we started to get on top and done well to take a 3-2 lead before losing an equaliser before half time.

At half time we explained to the players that if we were to win the game we had to create overloads, have better movement off the ball and to move the ball quicker.

The second half started similar to the 1st with Edinsol taking a 4-3 lead and being on top.

A forced change in system and style of play after Finlay Shearer saw red for an off the court incident seemed to ignite our players and from then on in we battled hard and played some terrific futsal to come back and win 6-4.

Once again this threw a different challenge for our young team and they done extremely well to work together, problem solve and secure an important victory.

Thanks to Edinsol for a difficult match and we wish them all the best for their league campaign.
