Futsal in Schools - Update

After positive discussions with the SFA Development Officers and Active Fife we are delighted to announce that we have been verbally approved to provide futsal in schools in Fife.

Our plans include:

• Participation futsal sessions for boys and girls at S1/S2 & S3/S4 (before, during or after school)
• Futsal Coach education for teachers and senior pupils
• Create school futsal teams for boys and girls at S1/S2 & S3/S4 years
• Create Futsal Escocia sponsored tournaments/leagues at high school age groups

The reason we are focusing on high schools is basically down to facilities. Each high school has a sports hall and hopefully futsal will be considered when new schools are being built.

We have a fantastic group of children involved in our futsal sessions, teams and leagues and we want to provide greater opportunities for players to play the game to allow the sport to grow. If we have a national men's futsal team, surely we should look to develop the sport as best as we can and to provide equal opportunities for males and females?
