Letham Santos 5 Futsal Escocia 4
We come away from Perth without anything to show from what was a good performance.
Letham took the lead against the run of play and their first effort on goal on 3 minutes.
We continued pushing and created some fantastic opportunities before Chris Donnelly fired in a free kick on 6 minutes.
We were the team on the ascendancy and captain Callum Husband finished off a great move with a delightful chip 5 minutes later.
We were the dominant team but lost poor goals on 13 and 19 minutes for Letham to somehow go in 3-2 up at half-time.
The theme was very similar in the second period with us not finishing off opportunities abd at the other end conceding 2 sloppy goals from very little efforts from the home side.
After 26 minutes we were 5-2 down but full credit to the boys, we kept at it and deservedly came back into the game through a fine Calum Peddie finish on 31 minutes.
Aiden Mackenzie brought us just 1 goal behind with a right foot finish on 37 minutes.
We had our opponents rattled and we threw everything at them but couldn't find the goals required to take away the 3 points we wanted.
Cameron Taylor recieved a late red card for a challenge that the referee called a stamp. Being a yard away, it clearly wasn't a stamp and strangely 2 off the ball incidents earlier in the game with Letham were punished with just a yellow card.
It's not the scoreline we wanted, but these are the games our young squad wants and needs to continue to develop.
We now have 4 difficult top 5 matches to look forward to and for us to continue to test ourselves against the best teams in the country.
