The youth teams are an opportunity for our players to play matches and more futsal.
Over the winter months (November to March), all players are involved in the Futsal Escocia Winter Leagues. During the summer months (April to October), all players will be in 3v3 tournaments every second week, with u14s and u16s playing 5v5 matches. Home and away external matches will be arranged against futsal clubs nationwide throughout the year.
We will also be enterning and hosting national and international tournaments. Players for external matches and tournaments will be selected based on performance, effort, attitude, commitment and attendence. We will be running Team Only Camps focusing on tactical elements throughout the year. These will be vital for those wanting to play in external competitions.
The teams provide a pathway to the adult Futsal Escocia teams. We currently have a B Team in the SFL Edinburgh, and the First Team plays in the SFL Super League. We hope to add a C Team in the Edinburgh League for season 2025/26. Home matches in the Super League take place at Michael Woods and we are looking for our youth players to come and support the team and learn more about the game.
If a team is short of players, the first place a coach should look is to the league/level below for additional players. There's an expectation for our older players to welcome the younger players to the group.
At the youth age groups, player development and playing the Futsal Escocia way is prioritised over results. Players should be looking to progress to the level above, with some players playing over 2 levels whilst adapting to the transition.
