THE ACADEMY WEEK AHEAD
After a summer of small sided games, we are back into our normal curriculum with this week being CONTROL, TECHNIQUE, and AWARENESS. This is the first week of the block because I feel that it is the most important and covers the fundamentals of dribbling, ball mastery, passing and control that we can also practice at home. If your child can do the fundamentals better, then the next weeks in the block become easier. Awareness covers game awareness, decision making, and game intelligence through game related scenarios where the player makes the decisions and nott the coach. The coach offers support and guidance about what decisions to make, based on how the defence is set up.
We are also aware that most of our 2013's are now moving to 11 aside football which may clash with their futsal commitments on a Sunday. We will do what we can to accomodate players into different sessions in the event of any clashes. Just let us know if you would like a change.
WHAT'S NEW?
Team Sessions Restructure
We have slightly restructured our Friday night team sessions to align with international age groups. Sessions are every 2nd Friday at the following age groups:
Futsal Niños
Futsal Niños is for 4-6 year olds and it is the perfect place to start your futsal/football journey.
I am delighted to announce that we will be launching a new session between 5-6pm on a Friday at Kirkcaldy Leisure Centre from the start of October. You will be able to book this from the start of September.
We have a great wee group emerging at Inverkeithing and we still have limited number of spaces available in this session. You can register your child here:

Player Registration for Futsal Escocia Teams (new players only)
Our Futsal Escocia Youth teams are open to all Academy players that are doing the weekly sessions. Our summer 3v3's conclude in September and we then focus on the winter leagues that run from the start of November to the end of February. The winter leagues cover 2012-2020 age groups and our 2011s and above will be eligible to play in our u16s with a pathway to our B team and first team.

Academy players have a discounted rate of £10.99 per month (normally £20). Players must register by the middle of September if they want to be included in our winter league squads.
October Team Camp
I was delighted with the progression the players made over last weeks team camp at Dunfermline Learning Campus. the players had a lot of tactical information to take on board but the progress is clear to see in their set up, game understanding and structure. This is great preperation for the players prior to the winter leagues, planned external matches, and international events. I just wish that I had the same time with our first team squad!!

MADEIRA TOURNAMENT 2026
We will be taking teams to the Funchal Cup in Madeira 2026. Players for the tournament are selected based on attendance, effort, attitude, performance and their understanding of futsal from sessions and camps. The tournaments are a far higher standard than winter leagues but will provide the players, coaches and parents with valuable learning points and a greater understanding of futsal. STREET FEET CAMPS
Unfortunately with the passing of my sister-in-law, we decided to cancel the camp on Tuesday 19th of August. Parents have been emailed with an update and options for a refund, to transfer to the camp on the 14th November or to donate to Pancreatic Cancer UK.
The inflatable pitches are being used at all the top football academies across Europe to provide a street football type environment for players to develop greater technical skills, to encourage creativity, and to be more 1v1 dominant. No other academies offer this in Scotland and we are way ahead of the curve in this area, just as we were with futsal. You can book our November camp here:
