THE ACADEMY WEEK AHEAD
Congratulations to all of our medal winners for the last block of sessions. The medal is selected based on attendance, effort, attitude, teamwork, willingness to learn and performance. They are never easy to select, especially when satandards are so high.
This week we are back to the start of a new block with CONTROL, TECHNIQUE and AWARENESS. We start off the block with this becuase it covers the fundamentals of futsal/football with dribbling, passing, control and game awareness/intelligence.
Hint: we might throw in a ball mastery warm up!!
We encourage our players to have as much contact time with the ball as possible and they can do additional work from home by accessing the 7mlc site on YouTube (we covered some of his ball mastery last week). His content is fantastic and there's a reason why he has nearly 2m followers. It is also free!! You can access it all here:
BARCELONA TOUR 2026

The itinerary includes:
TEAMS
First Team: Our first team narrowly lost out to league champions PYF Saltires in the SFL Super League at Michael Woods last night. There were some aspects of the performance that were very good, but also areas to improve. Sean Martin made his first team and Super League debut. Strangely, we play PYF Saltires in league action again next Sunday with a 5.10pm kick off.
B Team: Our B Team started their league campaign off to a flyer with a good performance and 11-1 victory over North Sea. This Wednesday we are in action at the Oriam against Stirling University 2nd's.
U16's: The u16's also started their national league well with a 12-5 win over PYF Saltires. There was a lot to be happy about with the performance but also areas that can be devloped on the court.
Youth Teams: I am in the process of creating squads for the Winter Leagues that start in November. The squads always create issues with parents but they are created with the best interests of the child first. Players are placed in teams based on a number of factors including age, physicality, training groups, futsal performance. It is important to recognise that futsal is not football and a tier 1 or pro player at football might not be the same at futsal. Sometimes I get it wrong but the good thing is the squads are flexible and can be changed if a player is finding it too easy or too difficult.
If a team is short of players, the first thing a coach should do is look to the league below.
TEAM SESSIONS
The perfect sessions for winter league preperation!! We are looking to add numbers to the 2010-14 and 2017/18's groups.
OCTOBER TEAM CAMPS
The team camps are one of the best things we have introduced to our programme and I wish we started them years ago. They allow more time with the players and to cover tactical aspects that we do not get the time to work on at Academy sessions. They also create a better bond and understanding between players. They are vital for external competition preperation.
You can register for our October Team Camps here:
Places are on a first come first served basis.
MADEIRA TOURNAMENT 2026
We will be taking teams to the Funchal Cup in Madeira 2026. Players for the tournament are selected based on attendance, effort, attitude, performance and their understanding of futsal from sessions and camps. The tournaments are a far higher standard than winter leagues but will provide the players, coaches and parents with valuable learning points and a greater understanding of futsal. If you want to be considered for selection, please complete the form:

STREET FEET CAMPS
The inflatable pitches are being used at all the top football academies across Europe to provide a street football type environment for players to develop greater technical skills, to encourage creativity, and to be more 1v1 dominant. No other academies offer this in Scotland and we are way ahead of the curve in this area, just as we were with futsal. You can book our November camp here:
