THE ACADEMY WEEK AHEAD
This week is Control, Technique, and Awareness week with a strong emphasis on mastering the fundamentals. Dribbling, passing, control, and shooting. As always, we will be encouraging players to use their brain 🧠.
SUMMER HOLIDAYS
We operate throughout the summer holidays with a 1 week break between the 3rd and 9th of August (inclusive).
Over the school holidays, numbers are always lower and we may combine certain sessions in Kirkcaldy and Inverkeithing.
Queen Anne HS is closed over the holidays. Sessions will be moved to Dunfermline Learning Campus (DLC) with slight changes to the schedule. We will also move the Carnegie sessions to DLC on a Tuesday so we are all in one venue.
Parents will be emailed directly regarding any changes to times or venues.
TESTING
Eck from Raeside Pro Edge Conditioning will be testing the players before our break between the 27th of July and the 1st of August.
Testing includes recording players height, weight, acceleration, change of direction, top speed, and explosive strength and power.
Results are compared to previous tests and sent out to parents.
SUCCESS STORIES
Congratulations to ex Escocia player Liam Kennedy in signing a 3 year full time professional contract with Celtic. Liam was a regular at futsal doing 2-3 sessions or matches a week on top of his football commitments.
The good news continued with Logan Raeside signing a 1 year full time professional contract with his boyhood club Raith Rovers. Logan was dsimilar to Liam in that he did futsal 2-3 times a week. His football journey was a little bit different from Liam's in that he entered the pro system later and has experienced the lows of football having been released from Dunfermline Athletic and Livingston. These types of setbacks can starngely have a positive impact on players and this has been the case with Logan.
Everyone at Futsal Escocia is delighted for both boys and their families. We will be cheering them all the way in the next stage of their journeys.
TEAMS UPDATE
Congratultions to our B Team on winning the SFL Edinburgh Fair Play Cup. The boys won 4 and drew 1 of their 5 matches in the league competition. Over the 5 matches, Sean Martin, Quinn Brown, Archie Clunie and Liam Ford made their B Team debuts.
The u14s and u16s travelled through to Glasgow yesterday (Sunday 22nd June). The u14s, including 3 x 2013's and a 2011 playing in the u16s, lost 10-8 in an entertaining match whilst the u16s ran out convincing 11-1 winners.
WHAT'S NEW?
Dyslexia Training
The response has been extremely positive. Thanks to everyone who has reached out to update us about their child. It is important that parents do reach out as we can help that child feel more comfortable at sessions and in matches. It is important that we create an environment where every player feels part of the group.
Futsal Niños
We just recently relaunched our Futsal Niños sessions for 4-6 year olds at Inverkeithing. We have a great wee group emerging and we still have limited number of spaces available. You can register your child here:

Street Feet by Futsal Escocia
We have ordered 4 x inflatable 3v3 pitches that can be used on any surface, indoors and outdoors.
The pitches should arrive by mid July and we will be using the pitches for the following once they arrive:
We have invested a lot of money into this project to further promote our belief in the benefits of small sided games.
The pitches are frequently used by the big football academies across the world to provide a street type football environment. You can do exactly the same with Futsal Escocia.

We have 2 weekly camps available to book at Rosyth Fleet Grounds in July and a 1 day 3v3 camp using the new inflatable 3v3 pitches at Michael Woods in August.
