Hi everyone,
Well done to everyone who tested last week , hopefully you’ll have the results via email by now .
Just a quick note to give a bit of context around the recent testing.
Please don’t worry if your child’s results don’t show a big jump this time. With kids, performance isn’t always consistent and there are lots of reasons why a test on the day might not show their best — things like concentration, energy levels, growth spurts, or even just being back into routine after Christmas.
It’s completely normal to see ups and downs across the year. What really matters is steady progress over time, not big improvements every single test.
One of the key positives we look for is a steady increase in height and weight, which shows healthy growth and development. Strength, speed, and coordination often fluctuate while kids are growing, and improvements usually follow as things settle.
Our main focus is long-term development, good movement, confidence, and enjoying training — the tests are just one small part of that bigger picture.
On sprint and agility tests you want to see the time decrease, whilst on the SLJ you want to see distance increase.

ACADEMY
This week we get the cobwebs away with ball work, lots of game time and fitness to finish.
We also encourage our players to do additional work from home by accessing the 7mlc site on YouTube (we covered some of his ball mastery last week). His content is fantastic and there's a reason why he has nearly 2m followers. It is also free!! You can access it all here:

SUCCESS STORIES
It was busy week for players signing pro with Hearts. We are incredibly proud to see 4 Futsal Escocia players sign at the 2016 age group. Well done boys.
Also, well done to Jett Bridges who scopped the Players Player of the Year award at Blue Brazil. Well done Jett!!
GOALKEEPERS
The feedback from training with Jonny was excellent. We are looking to start regular goalkeeping specific sessions early this year. Look our for further information coming soon.
TEAMS
First Team: The first team started the year with a convincing 12-3 victory over Edinburgh University. Calum Peddie was nominated as Man of the Match. Liam Ford also made his first team debut.
B Team: The B Team are back in SFL Edinburgh action on Wednesday with a match against Edinburgh University B at The Oriam.
Under 16's: We are actively looking to arrange more matches at this age group. Look out for further information.
Youth Teams: The Futsal Escocia Winter Leagues resumed last weekend with a mixture of performances and results. Here is our Futsal Escocia Team of the Week, another new feature for 2026!!

INTERNATIONAL TOURNEMENTS
Our u11's (2015/16's) are confirmed for Madeira 2026 but we want to expose our players to more futsal outside of Scotland.
We are looking at u13, u15, u17 and u19 events later in 2026 and we will be arranging external matches across the UK at all age groups.
STREET FEET SCOTTISH CUP 2026
The Street Feet Christmas Cup was a resounding success and it was fantastic to see so many Escocia players involved with their friends and teams. This year we are looking to run regional events across Scotland with a national final. Competitions are likely to take place during July 2026 with national finals in December.
Futsal Niños
Our Futsal Niños for 4-6 year olds is going extremely well and the session is now fully booked. I genuinely believe that these sessions are the perfect place to start your futsal/football journey.
Look out for new Futsal Niños sessions starting in central and west Fife soon!!
