Weekly Update

March 2, 2026

ACADEMY

This week is ATTACKING week. The focus is taking advantage of overloads in game realstic scenarios. We will look at decisions for the players both on and off the ball. When to pass/dribble/shot based on what the defender is doing.

We also encourage our players to do additional work from home by accessing the 7mlc site on YouTube. Individual practice is vital for any aspiring footballer and mastering the fundamentals can be done from home and in their own time. The 7mlc content is fantastic and there's a reason why he has nearly 2m followers. It is also free!! You can access it all here:

GOALKEEPERS

The feedback from training with Jonny was excellent. We are looking to start monthly goalkeeping specific sessions from April onwards. We just need to confirm venue.

TEAMS

First Team: The first team came back from the disappointment of last week to beat Joga Futsal 8-4 in a must win match at Michael Woods. A draw would have seen Joga progress to the playoffs, but we managed to win an end to end encounter and collect 3 points to book a place in the playoffs. Sponsors MOTM was caleb Holness who put in a terrific display and scored 2 goals.

The playoff structure is new thhis season with 1st playing 4 and 2nd playing 3rd over 3 matches, The top seed gets 2 of the 3 matches at home. The playoff winners qualify the UEFA Futsal Champions League.

Thanks to everyone who supported us on our win yesterday, but we would love more to come and support us in the play offs and the Scottish Cup QF that we have coming up.

B Team: The B Team are back in action this week with a match against Dalkeith cardo at The Oriam on Wednesday. We go into the split undefeated and with a healthy lead at the top. Here is an up to date league table.

Under 16's: The u16's remain top of the league with Joga futsal still to play in what could be a title decider in the u16 National League.

Youth Teams: The Futsal Escocia Winter Leagues are concluded for another year. With the exception of the 2012/13 age group who are playing in the SFL Scottish Cup, we have a break over March to allow coaches, players and parents a bit of time to recharge the batteries as well as build up some funds in the club account.

Over the summer we will be running 3v3 leagues at the younger age groups and 5v5 leagues at the older ones. These will take place every 2 weeks from the start of April. We will also be arranging external matches across the UK and looking to enter international events.

The youth teams are open to everyone in the academy. If you woulf like your child to join the teams please get in touch.

INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENTS

Our u11's (2015/16's) are confirmed for Madeira 2026 and here is the squad that are travelling.

STREET FEET SCOTTISH CUP 2026

The Street Feet Christmas Cup was a resounding success and it was fantastic to see so many Escocia players involved with their friends and teams. This year we are looking to run regional events across Scotland with a national final. Competitions are likely to take place during July 2026 with national finals in December.

KITS

The previous order should be getting delivered soon. We are also in the process of designing new kits which will be launched later this year (September). Players will get the opportunity to select what kits they prefer.
