Weekly Update

April 27, 2026

ACADEMY

This week is ATTACKING week with a focus on scoring goals at the second post (back post). Goals in this are help eliminate the goalkeeper. Awareness, movement, timing, weight of the pass and execution are key to this.

Now that light nights are back and the kids are off schoool, we encourage our players to do additional work from home by accessing the 7mlc site on YouTube. Individual practice is vital for any aspiring footballer and mastering the fundamentals can be done from home and in their own time. The 7mlc content is fantastic and there's a reason why he has nearly 2m followers. It is also free!! You can access it all here:

SUCCESS STORIES

Congratulations to Erin Husband in being named in the PFA Scotland SWPL Team of the Year 2025/26. This is the second time in her 2 years as a professional player, and it is pretty incredible considering she is still only 18 years of age. Well done to Erin and good luck to her twin sister Jess, and to Olivia Chomczuk (all ex Escocia players) in their quest to win the SWPL with Hearts. They curently sit top of the league.

TEAMS

First Team: The first team made it to the final of the Scottish Cup after an 8-3 victory over FC33 in Dundee. The guys started the match really well and were in a commanding position after 28 minutes, but lost 3 goals in a bad 4 minute spell. We responded really well and dealt with the threat of the fly GK much better and scored some fantastic goals to win 8-3.

Man of the Match was Calum Peddie, who scored to fantastic goals.

B Team: The B Team are not back in action until a League Cup match the 13th of May. We will be looking for a league and cup double.

Under 16's: The u16's remain top of the league with Joga Futsal still to play in what could be a title decider in the u16 National League.

Youth Teams: The 2012/13's represented the club very well in the Scossie Cup. The found the physical differences of playing a year up a challenge but will take great learning from the event. There are no team activities next Sunday due to an event at Michael Woods.

Our 3v3's returned yesterday. The 3v3's are vital for a number of reasons.

  • More touches of the ball
  • More decisions
  • More duals attacking/defending actions
  • More mistakes
  • High intensity
  • Improve fitness, agility and mobility

Well done to all of our winners:

STREET FEET SCOTTISH CUP 2026

The Street Feet Christmas Cup was a resounding success and it was fantastic to see so many Escocia players involved with their friends and teams. This year we are looking to run regional events across Scotland with a national final. Competitions are likely to take place during July 2026 with national finals in December.

KITS

The new kit samples should arrive this week. We will let players choose what they would like as soon as they arrive.
