Weekly Update

ACADEMY

This week is GAMES and MEDAL week with some GAME CHANGERS thrown in there. It is an opportunity to put what we have been learning in terms of movement off the ball, and creating overloads into play. It is also important for the players to understand that to get the full benefits of futsal, it has to be played like futsal, with high intensity and constant movement.

Now that light nights are back and the kids are off school, we encourage our players to do additional work from home by accessing the 7mlc site on YouTube. Individual practice is vital for any aspiring footballer and mastering the fundamentals can be done from home and in their own time. The 7mlc content is fantastic and there's a reason why he has nearly 2m followers. It is also free!! You can access it all here:

SUCCESS STORIES

Congratulations to Erin and Jessica Husband, along with ex Escocia player Olivia Chomzcuk in winning the SWPL with Hearts on Sunday. The girls are a perfect example of what you can achieve with the right effort, desire and ambition. They were an absolute joy to coach and it is no surprise to see them doing so well. I can't wait to see where their careers take them.

BARCELONA 2027

I am delighted to announce that we are heading back to Barcelona in 2027. We are extremely fortunate that our players have the opportunity to experience the FC Barcelona methodology from their coaches and to train on the pitches at the famoua La Masia training complex. The same facilities used by Lamine Yamal, Pedri and co!!

The tour is the second week of the Easter holidays with training sessions taking place on Monday the 5th of April to Thursday the 8th of April. The tour will also include a stadium tour, a jorney on the official FCB team bus and much more.

The itinerary will hopefully include attending futsal and/or football matches depending on fixtures.

TEAMS

First Team: The first team are preparing for the Scottish Cup Final on Sunday the 7th of June. Mark the date in your diary to come and support the team in Perth!!

B Team: The B Team progressed through to the next round of the cup with a 22-1 victory over Napier University. Sean Martin, who scored 6 goals, was the MOTM. We face Stirling Univeristy in the semi final on Wednesday 27th of May.

Under 16's: The u16's remain top of the league with Joga Futsal still to play in what could be a title decider in the u16 National League. The fixture is due to take place on the 6th of June.

Youth Teams: Our 3v3's were back at the weekend and we know it was sunny but the turnout was not acceptable. We have built up a good reputation for the club over the last 11 years and we will not let that change. Our club values are more than futsal, they are life lessons.

We have had an incredible amount of success with our players and teams over the years, but for all our success, a lot more have failed to achieve their goals and ambitions. This is because only a tiny percentage actually go on to have a career in football. Those who succeed do so through their effort, desire to improve, sacrifices and love for the game. We have seen players with incredible talent fail because they had the wrong attitude or guidance from their parent, whilst others have achieved beyond expectations thrugh their efforts.

We do not share publicly when a child goes pro because we know that there is a long journey ahead. We will only share milestones like signing for a pro club, winning trophies, international call ups or career milestones. Anything else is putting unneccasry pressure on the child.

Unlike other organisations out there, our coaches are well QUALIFIED with over a decade experience in YOUTH DEVELOPMENT. In the last 11 years, we have seen over 180 Escocia players progress to pro academies. We can not predict who will make it, but we know exactly what it takes to play at the highest level, and know who does not have the attributes to get there.

If you listen to people speak about the likes of Andy Robertson and John McGinn, they will say that they are humble, hard working, ambitious, respectful and team players. We are not seeing enough of these values across the teams right now and we want to do what we can to change this.

Well done to everyone who attended and to those who won on Sunday.

STREET FEET SCOTTISH CUP 2026

The Street Feet Christmas Cup was a resounding success and it was fantastic to see so many Escocia players involved with their friends and teams. This year we are running a summer edition in Fife and other regions with the winners competing in national finals that will take place during the festive break in December. Register your team here:
