THE ACADEMY WEEK AHEAD
Research has shown that opposed practices are far more beneficial for player development than unopposed sessions and 1-2-1 sessions. The reason behind this is that opposed practices are more game realistic and present players with constant decision making actions gainst an opponent. This will result in more mistakes, but we learn from our mistakes.
I know I can be quite demanding in terms of effort and discipline at sessions but this is an environment that develops better players. Over the last couple of weeks the effort and standard across all of the sessions has been excellent and there is clear progress being made. This was evident in our recent match between the Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy Monday Game Changers groups. It was an end to end match that ended 9-9. This is something that we will look to introduce with different sessions at the end of blocks.
GIRLS ONLY SESSIONS
Unfortunately it is our last week of our girls only sessions at Kirkcaldy. I would like to thank Fraser and all the girls involved for the time and effort. It is great to see some of the girls continue their futsal journey at our mixed sessions. The girls that we have had the most success with, all trained and played regularly with boys and hopefully they can follow in their footsteps.
The girls will also have the opportunity to participate in our Futsal Escocia Youth Winter Leagues which will start in November.
SUMMER HOLIDAY BREAK
We have a 1 week break at Academy and Team sessions between the 3rd and 9th of August (inclusive).
TESTING
Eck from Raeside Pro Edge Conditioning will be testing the players before our break between the 27th of July and the 1st of August. Testing includes recording players height, weight, acceleration, change of direction, top speed, and explosive strength and power. Results are compared to previous tests and sent out to parents. Please try to make at least 1 of our sessions that week.
SUCCESS STORIES
It isn't players this week, it is the success of the new inflatable pitches that were introduced at our summer camp in Rosyth. The feedback from all of the kids involved was excellent.
Unfortunately, they have arrived a bit later than we hoped and this restricts what we can do this summer, but we have 1 day camps in the indoor astro arena at Michael Woods on the following dates:

We will also be running a Str33t Feet Christmas Cup at different age groups at the Michael Woods Arena between Christmas and New Year. Look out for further information on this soon!!!

WHAT'S NEW?
Futsal Niños
Futsal Niños is for 4-6 year olds and it is the perfect place to start your futsal/football journey.
I am delighted to announce that we will be launching a new session between 5-6pm on a Friday at Kirkcaldy Leisure Centre from the start of September. You will be able to book this from the start of August.
We have a great wee group emerging at Inverkeithing and we still have limited number of spaces available in this session. You can register your child here:

Winter Leagues 2025/26
We will be promoting our Winter Leagues very soon. Leagues will be at the following age groups:
We will also try to run girls only leagues if there is enough interest. A few teams have already contacted us.
The leagues take place between the start of November and the end of February.
